What I do

I parachute into organisations that need recovery, transformation, or practical AI readiness — and maintain delivery grip while they get there.

I work in environments where financial pressure, service performance, digital complexity, or regulatory scrutiny means conventional programme management is not enough. My role is to create the conditions for meaningful change and then hold the line on delivery.

Three areas of focus

Recovery programmes

Stepping into financially pressured or operationally challenged organisations to bring structure, prioritisation, accountability and delivery pace. This is not turnaround consultancy — it is programme and delivery leadership that creates the conditions for sustainable recovery.

Large-scale transformation

Leading or reshaping major transformation work across core systems replacement, service redesign, data and analytics, digital enablement, and operating model change. Equally comfortable at programme board level and in the detail of delivery.

AI readiness, grounded in reality

Championing AI adoption while addressing the hard truths first: data quality, workflow redesign, professional and operational leadership, and governance. This includes AI governance frameworks — assurance, accountability structures and board oversight — so that adoption is durable rather than just demonstrated.

Where I add the most value

Financial deficit & recovery

Recovery programmes, prioritised delivery, grip on transformation, and stronger links between change initiatives and operational reality. This is where professional, financial and digital leadership need to work together — and often don't.

Challenged environments

Organisations under pressure, under scrutiny, or needing confidence restored across professional, operational and board leadership. The ability to operate calmly at board level while maintaining hands-on delivery grip is the point of difference here.

Systems, digital & data change

Core systems strategy and procurement planning, cloud migration, integration, structured data, platform development and digital enablement. Experience spans nationally-scaled programmes and organisation-level delivery.

Board alignment & governance

Helping senior leaders understand why they are in their current position and what changes are required. This includes programme governance, AI governance frameworks, and the accountability structures that give boards real visibility and control — not just assurance on paper.

AI adoption: the hard truths first

I am strongly pro-AI. But meaningful adoption only works when foundational issues are acknowledged and addressed first. A practical framework before widespread deployment.

1

Structured data

Data must be in a structured form so organisations can generate meaningful insight, reliable reporting and usable outcomes from AI-enabled tools. Most organisations are not there yet. Acknowledging this is the first step.

2

Professional leadership

Professional and operational leaders need to understand how and why services are in their current position — and what changes to practice, workflow and workforce are required. AI adoption without that leadership is a technology project, not an operational improvement.

3

Governance & accountability

Senior leaders must be fully engaged and held to account — and the right AI governance structures must be in place. This means clear accountability frameworks, assurance processes, and board-level oversight of AI deployment. Without this, AI adoption creates risk rather than reducing it.

"This is what turns AI from a pilot or a presentation into something operationally and organisationally durable."
